Event hosted on November 6, 2024
The presenter for the program is Lasada "LP" Pippen, a former computer engineer and bilingual STEM expert. In this discussion style presentation, Lasada is joined by Dr. Daniel Clasby to talk about the connection between society and technology, specifically focusing on the digital divide and opportunity gaps technology can create and close for first-generation and historically marginalized students.
This topic is particularly relevant to the Penn College community as we increasingly rely on digital access and use artificial intelligence in our classrooms. The session's dialogue addresses the need for technology, the gaps created by the lack of access, and the benefits of increased technological support for students from first-generation and historically marginalized backgrounds.
