This fascinating colloquium, entitled "Google Meets Aldo Leopold: Information, Technology, 21st Century Environmental Ethics," combines readings from Leopold's timeless prose, vocabulary homework and images from Google Earth to lead a virtual field trip. Leopold's recognition of the tenuous balance between humans and their environment is highlighted as the "field trip" reveals man's imprint on the environment. The presenters are Rob Cooley, an assistant professor of anthropology and environmental science, and Mark D. Noe, a professor of English. The presentation is part of Penn College's Centennial Colloquia focused on technology and society.
