Presented by Pat Scheib (recorded July 6, 2021)
This workshop introduces Bloom's Taxonomy, specifically as it applies to how college professors teach and write college exams. The differences between high school and college learning and testing are discussed, with strategies to help students bridge that gap. Strategic thinking focuses on helping students use critical thought in decision- making and problem-solving through discussion of realistic scenarios of situations where students could utilize these skills. Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to help students:
- understand how Bloom's Taxonomy applies to college learning;
- recognize the differences between high school and college testing and learning;
- understand how to train themselves to think at higher levels of critical thinking; and
- apply strategic thinking as a problem-solving strategy.
